Keeping a promise
I’ve never been much of a baseball fan. I love most other sports, just not baseball. That said, I have quite a few friends who are big baseball fans so I know how they can get. John really wanted to show his love for the Cubs on his wedding day by stopping by the Wrigley Field Sign painted in downtown Davenport. I’ve done this before, no big deal, however one groomsmen was not so excited. See, he is a Cards fan, and the thought of him posing with the Cubs sign was unbearable. So in an effort to get all the guys in the photo, I made a promise to him that if he would pose with the rest of the guys, I would make the Cubs sign turn into a Cards sign. So in keeping my promise, here it is. John, I’m sorry, but a promise is a promise!

And the real version.

Angela + John
Elegant and Classic would be the way I would describe Angela & John’s October wedding. Everything from the white satin gloves and bow ties, to the bouquets and beautiful center pieces, just gave the whole day a very polished and timeless feel.
It felt much more like late November rather than early October, but the rain stayed away. We were able to go to a few locations before the ceremony and then also sneak the two of them away for a few minutes to do some photos at the Outing Club where they held their reception.

I mentioned in the previous post about how amazing the flowers were from Milan Flower shop, this is just one of several types of arrangements on the guest tables throughout the Outing Club. Really beautiful!

The porch and balcony at the Outing Club are perfect for photo opportunities!

Congratulations Angela and John! It was wonderful being apart of such a beautiful day.

Angela + John Rehearsal Dinner
I don’t do a lot of rehearsal dinners, however I was very happy to be apart of this one. Angela and John put a lot of time and effort into this night. It was very elegant but warm and intimate at the same time. The Figge Art Museum was the location for the dinner. They provided hors d vours, cocktails and a great dinner buffet!
Damien of Milan Flower Shop provided the beautiful centerpieces and other floral decor for the event. I will have to remember to post some images of the wedding flowers he did for both the ceremony and reception as they were quite stunning.

The bar area of the Figge has a very modern edge to it. I liked using the reflection from the long horizontal mirrors they have to capture a few images. The bold red walls and benches add quite the punch. You will see another image below with the same concept.

Both the rehearsal and wedding were rich with Italian Tradition. John Ryan owns a local pizza restaurant here in the QCA so what better cake than a one decorated to look like a Pizza! Designed by Olde Towne Bakery in Moline.

The whole group!

The flower girl giving her grandpa a big grin. Being a mom of a little girl who simply adores her grandpa, this image was just close to my heart so I couldn’t resist posting it.

John Ryan’s dad gave a heartfelt and emotional speech to his son and bride to be.

Keisha + Kurt E-Session
Tis the season for Engagement sessions! I have already posted several and have a handful more to post up here that I am doing shortly. I love em though. It’s definitely nice to really meet and spend some time with each couple before the big day.
Keisha and Kurt’s E-Session was looking questionable weather wise but we ended up missing any rain. (More fellow UNIers – yay!) Keisha and Kurt are the active outdoorsy type so we headed to Scott County Park for their E-Session. Keisha and Kurt are now under their one year mark as they will be married early next fall in Preston, IA. I am very much looking forward to the wedding and photos out at the family home. Should be beautiful!
Here are a few images from their session.

Libby + Mike E-Session
This is the real Libby & Mike this time!
Libby and Mike are fellow UNI Panthers so they get major props for attending the best college in Iowa. I actually seem to get quite a few UNI alums or students. We must just all have good taste!
Okay enough plugging UNI – on to the e-session. Libby and Mike met me down in the District of Rock Island for their e-session. I like shooting down there. There are just a bunch of places you can take some great images. They had picked out one particular spot they had seen from some of my other images in the studio then we just used the rest of the great landscaping and architecture around there to play. Libby and Mike will be getting married early next summer. Libby has picked pale yellow as her main color – yellow seems to be a very appropriate happy color for the two of them. I’m anxious to see what their florist (one of my favorites!), Lynn from Clazzy Designs, will come up with! Here are a few from the session!

Some of my favorite images come from the times you aren’t setting anything up or planning things out. A shot we were doing was interrupted by people in the background. I told them to hang on a moment until the people cleared. Mike grabbed Libby and just held her close to which I promptly started shooting. I love the look on his face.

Allie + George e-session
I loved Allie and George’s e-session. I met them on a Sunday morning downtown Davenport. Allie and George are such a cool couple. They live in Chicago and you can just tell that the city fits them perfectly. I tried to keep more of an urban feel to their session as that seems to really fit them.
I tell myself how lucky I am all of the time to have couples as wonderful as I do. I just seem to get the couples that really fit into what I enjoy doing, and these two were no exception. They were up for anything I asked and had no problem just being themselves. Their wedding is early next summer here in the Quad Cities. Here are a few images from their session.

One of my winter projects this year will be moving my blog to a new format. When I started this blog, I didn’t realize how limited I was on image size. I will be getting a larger format so you can actually see the images bigger and better on the blog! But in the meantime, if you are on Facebook, look me up! I typically will load 2 – 3 times as many photos for each event up on my Facebook Galleries. So if you just can’t get enough, you can find more there!
Renae + Kyle September Wedding
Renae & Kyle were married early September in Davenport. They had their reception out at Traditions in Eldridge. This was my first time out to Traditions, the new even hall just opened a couple of months ago. It was such a family oriented day. Most of the wedding party consisted of siblings and there were 8 little ones that took part in their big day! After the ceremony was over, Renae wanted to head to Vanderveer for some wedding party and couple shots before heading to the reception.
Here is a glimpse at the day.
The two Ring Bearers sporting the “Ring Security” shirts! Loved those!
The lovely Renae!

I love how they are completely surrounded by all of the kids as they try to make their exit!

The new Mr. & Mrs.

Thank you Renae and Kyle!

Jessica + Klint e-session
Jessica and Klint are my New Year’s Eve couple. What better way to kick off the new year then by getting married – talk about a new start!
Jessica and Klint drove down to the Quad Cities to meet me for their e-session down in Moline. We shot some images down behind the Mark (yeah yeah, i-wireless whatever, it will always be the Mark to me), and then we went over across the street to the alley way behind the shops on River Drive.

This last image is really one of my favorites from their session. Jessica is just such a natural beauty, and she had no problem getting those big brown eyes to sparkle for the camera. When I had Jessica put her arms around Klint, his expression became very genuine – maybe I have it all wrong but to me his eyes and smile seem to be saying, ‘I’m the luckiest man ever!’
Abby + Nick
I posted a teaser for Abby and Nick, then never added any more to it. Here are a few more of my favorites…

Onyx tagged along for some photos at the beginning of the shoot

I posted this one earlier in black and white but decided that it was better in color so here it is again. It’s one of my ‘most favoritest’ images right now. I had it blown up and displayed at the recent bridal show and it really drew lots of comments from everyone walking by.

The old Marycrest Campus really had a lot of beautiful places to shoot.

Abby and Nick will be married in a little over a month! I can’t wait for the Halloween wedding. I will be sure to post some from their wedding soon after the big day!
Bridal Show
I just wanted to thank everyone who stopped by at the QCWeddings.com Bridal Show last Sunday. We met some great new people and got to see some of our upcoming brides again as well! This was the first bridal show we have done outside of the large Jaycee’s Bridal Show in January. We will be at the 2010 Davenport Jaycee’s Bridal Fair so come see us there too!
Today is back to the daily grind. I have several engagement sessions and a wedding to finish editing and post online. Hopefully several blog entries this week to get me caught up!
Here is our booth from Sunday. We completely redesigned it from what we have done in the past. Constructing a 7′ by 8′ wall that won’t come crashing down in the middle of the show is more work than what it seems. Luckily it stayed in place all day!

And I have to post this of Tim from Black Tie Entertainment. We’ve worked with Tim at many weddings and not only does he do a great job but he always has a great sense of humor too. Can you tell which one of these guys was the statue at the Terror in the Woods booth?
